![]() ![]() CBR takes a look at some of the moments in the Arrowverse that had us feeling a little deja vu. From the idea of older heroes mentoring younger ones and cops working together with heroes to take down crime, every show in the Arrowverse has taken some cues from the short-lived Birds of Prey. Though the roster changes up from time to time, the idea of having a (mostly) female superhero team always stays the same. While the television show only lasted one season, the Birds of Prey comic has been a constant in the DC Universe for decades. Birds of Prey followed the heroics of Oracle, Huntress and Black Canary as they used their powers to defend the city of New Gotham from its extensive criminal underworld. The Arrowverse has a lot in common with it's female-driven predecessor, Birds of Prey. The addition of Black Lightning will give a shot of diversity to the mostly Caucasian lineup of heroes. ![]() a shame it was not given a proper time to iron out the problems it clearly had.This fall The CW will add it's fifth superhero-themed show with Black Lightning joining Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. the show its a bit messy, with the clear example of oracle, meeting the parents of her boyfriend twice for the first time (one shot regularly other one recycled from the unaired pilot/scrapped episodes) the first reaction is go mad and that she is a strong woman, that if she wanted she is strong enough to kill herself (not cause she wanted just making a point to huntress on an argument she is still a strong woman even if disabled) second time is more like "ow their parents dont like me, i dont wanna date him anymore" its a good show to watch from time to time. its 1000 triliions better than batwoman (2019) and had great acting and casting. demanding she would walk (using a magical future technology that never truly worked) still, this show has a special place in my heart. tons of problems, like the studio raging mad oracle was batgirl on a wheelchair. also was converted from premiere series to a mini series for the episode 5. but studio interference, plus beeing canceled near the episode 10, was a mess trip.
